Celebrating it’s 16th year starting tonight, Boston Fashion Week kicks off this evening with a bang to start this seven day celebration of Boston style & fashion. Although Boston has yet to join the ranks of the mega fashion elite cities such as New York, Milan, and Paris, it’s still a great way to celebrate the emerging presence of the artistic styles & trends that our dear city of Boston holds.
Boston Fashion Week 2009 will consist of a wide variety of events ranging from fashion shows, art exhibits, parties, movie screenings, and much much more. Here are some Boston Fashion Week events that might be worth your while.
Friday, September 25th
Tonight! It’s Friday, it’s Fashion Week, so celebrate it right after work at the After Work Fashion Trail Kickoff Party located at the Beehive in Boston’s South End. There’s no cover charge and the party goes from 5pm – 7pm with a cash bar. Free hors d’oeuvres and sponsor giveaways from local shops will all make this Boston Fashion Week event an awesome time. And if you are still looking to party like a fashionista head over to 33 Lounge tonight for the Stuff Magazine sponsored official Boston Fashion Week After Party covered by Dirty Water TV.
Saturday, September 26th
Head over to Vinalia in Downtown Crossing on from 8pm- 10pm for City Chic, a fabulous fashion event showcasing a Fusion of th Arts Drea Designs & Michael Mione, and stay for the after party to dance & mingle with some of Boston’s finest fashion industry insiders.
Sunday, September 27th
Do something different & unique by heading over to “The Launch” that takes place at the Boston Center for Adult Education at 122 Arlington St, where selected ‘up & coming’ new fashion designers will be focused in an effort to help foster new local talent. This is the first time Boston Fashion Week has held this type of event and it is very exciting! Head over there on Sunday from 3-5pm to celebrate fashion on such a local and intimate level.
Wednesday, September 30th
Join Stilista at Emerge Salon as they celebrate the best Boston has to offer in style & beauty with their first annual Stilista|Awards, combined with a shopping preview of some looks for fall from Luna Boston, Amelia Rose and Lila P. Stop in to view the collections, have a drink, snag a cupcake, rock out to a live DJ, all while helping an amazing local cause, as part of the event’s proceeds will benefit the MSPCA!
